Default (WTB) 944 na

Anyone know of any decent driver quality 944 NAs for sale? Doesn't have to be perfect but do want it to be running. 5spd only. Not picky about color or condition of the interior. Ideally an 86 since I have plenty of early offset wheels but would prefer the later interior since I have a good interior that could be swapped in. For my son.

Might be helpful to post your budget.

If you haven’t already, reach out to John Graves. He usually has something interesting available. Send me a PM if you need his contact info.

Yes it is Don. I had my first spin with you in the right seat of my 83 944 at Mid Ohio in 1998! LOL

This one will be for my 16 year old son.

Great idea Karl. Sending John a email.

Mark, this is a great idea! Just enough power to get around the track respectfully (?), but not enough to hide bad habits. Momentum is the key, as you well know. Great to see the next generation come along!

Mine has been around forever not being properly enjoyed. But the wife's price may be too much for a kid's track car budget.

All wife sales need an offer price. You know the rules.

I was looking into buying a 944/968 for my 18 year old as well. When people would question my buying a fast sports car for a young driver, I point out that the 6 speed Mazda 3 they learned to drive in is much faster than a 944.

Same here, looked for awhile and ended up with a 2001 Bullitt Mustang. Everyone asked the question, why purchase a fast sports car for a kid? When I pointed out that it was 265hp and that any modern minivan can out run it in the stoplight races they still said why? He loves the car and is not interested in my P-cars yet, so it served its purpose well. He managed to crash the Mustang anyway. He is fine and the car is back on the road. You will see them at the track this summer.

Get the youngster to the track so he car learn to drove properly

FYI: The one to buy is a 1988 924S, less weight and an extra 10hp

Karl, is handling hampered by the narrow body?
