Default More audio junk: Denon DP-59L turntable, Shure V15-VMR cartridge

Original owner, low-miles audiophile turntable and cartridge! I'll put it in the usual places but wanted to list here first @ a good price before taking it to the market...

I bought this Denon DP-59L direct-drive turntable in 1988, it's the last piece of my original system and has been terrific. Straight tonearm, I never had the S tonearm - when you buy on Canal Street everything is a la cart, even if it originally came in the box.

Mechanically perfect as far as I can tell. Plinth is perfect. Cover has some scratches and gouges from 32 years of use and moving around that should polish up well based on a recent shot at it.

Cartridge is a Shure V15 type V MR, with original beryllium cantilever and Micro Ridge diamond. The combination of turntable, arm and cartridge tracks just about everything without a ton of down force.

The turntables seem to trade around $900, the cartridge around $350, so how about $900 for Dorki? Or trade up/down on a pair of Focal Aria 906, Kef LS50 or similar speakers.

You're welcome to demo it at my place or yours.

Many more pix, just ask.

Great table, Ed. I clicked on your post in Audiokarma. Very tempting but I am good now with a Clearaudio Concept table I have owned for 6 years.

I had mid 80s Denon that served me well for 20+ years. Good luck with the sale!

Thanks! I realized from the Audio karma listings that 1250 is too much and set it at 1k there, so $900 here.

It is a great table. The AD1862 DAC mentioned elsewhere is so pleasing that in order for vinyl to compete I'd have to upgrade my phono preamp and maybe the cartridge, so took the saner path and listed everything for sale including my vinyl

Vinyl here: https://www.discogs.com/seller/Paddy_Garcia/profile . Super special deals for dorki, PM or email me if you see stuff you want...

Oh yeah. My stuff, my sister's, my folks, and my uncles, all on one big shelf!

Here's the friends & family deal: Any of the pop/rock/reggae/blues that's priced over about $5 is probably going to actually sell on Discogs, so I might ask for some $.

$3 and under, most CDs, or ANYTHING classical regardless of listed price? Hasn't moved in a year on Discogs so yours for the postage, which via USPS media mail is priced by the pound and cheap (ex: $4 for 3lb).

It's too bad about the classical, my uncles who never had 2 nickels to rub together bought a lot of nice stuff and it looks like many were rarely, if ever played. But there's no market. So please take them in, or they'll get turned into snack bowls and restaurant tchotchkes after I blow them out in 30-album lots on ebay.

I'm getting ready to start building a collection for my 7-year-old, as he now has a '60s Fischer receiver, an '90s Pioneer TT and some new Wharfdale speakers. He has appropriated my Eddie Grant "Killer on the Rampage" record, and wants more content. I'll try and carve out some time this weekend to look at that very large collection. My wife likes classical, so might be able to give some of those a home.

The Whitman Walker payment option seems very popular, so let's go with it:

Pick anything on the list, at any price, and I'll send it to you on my nickel if you'll make a donation to WW. Good stuff for you, less stuff in my house, money to a good cause.

Turntable is gone, cartridge available, $250 dorki monies.

Lots of CDs and LPs gone but still some good stuff there that needs to be out of my house.
