Ok so key turned to on, fuel pump relay removed, tester light on the 87a and 30 pin holes = nothing, tester light on fuse #3 (which in my car is labeled fuel pump) also negative. Other fuses with light appear to work. The only other one that doesn’t is #8. Both fuse 3 and 8 have an extra wire running from them to the DME.
After lunch I’m jacking the front end up and trying the fuel pump from underneath.

So I have power at 30 on the harness where the DME relay connects. I swapped DME relays and still it won’t start.
In a Rennlist thread it said to see if you can hear/feel the ICV running with the key in the on or run position. I cannot. (This is mostly my working list now so I keep track of things)

Focus on the simple stuff, good fuel flow at filter? Propper pressure at fuel rail? Spark at a plug?

Cmartin no fuel getting to the filter. No fuel at all.

so that takes out the icv
![]() Did you jump 30 to 87b, at the dme relay socket? I saw you have power, thats half. Jump those terminals and if no fuel try to power the pump directly. Disco the wiring and run 12v to it. There is a good no start flow chart in the bentley manual, I'll crab a copy if you dont have one.

So test light on the fuel pump gets me nothing. Do you just run a wire from the battery to the pump to test it? And jumper 87b to 30 at the DME? I have not done that but I will do that now.
I also went ahead and pulled the DME connection, the only outlet that has power with the key turned to on is the first 1.

You jump the harness to rule out/hard wire the relay. So connect terminal 30 to 87b. An electrical staple fits exactly or make a connector. Key off you should have 12v at terminal 30. Key on 12v at 86a. If no power as indicated you have a broken or disconnected wire. Work backwards from the connector, red and black wires respectively.
Another spot to check is the ground bundle on the intake, left side at cyl1 looking at the engine. You can test for ground at terminal 85. Next one, key on 12v at terminal 87, power to injectors. To test the pump, yes, run 12v from a power source, like a battery.

Standby and I will update these pics with what happens in each, but I need to recheck the connections after taking them, emailing them to myself, saving them, and finally getting them resized to upload.
![]() From top to bottom: 1. relay to harness 2. makes clicking in the engine, but I'm not sure what is clicking 3. does nothing 4. makes fuel pump hum 5. does nothing

Wow they still turned out giant. My bad.
When I run a jumper wire from the battery to pin 30 on the fuel pump harness I can hear the fuel pump hum. (Thanks Tito)
