Default 81 Porsche 911SC sunroof coupe. Graphite/ Blk Lthr Int. 141k miles. Full Records.

SOLD!

I'm thrilled to turn this wonderful car over to fellow Dorki and Brethren WNSOLOMON. I thoroughly enjoyed going over the car with him and I am confident he's going to get years of fulfillment behind the wheel. Ironically, WNSOLOMON and I are from the same county in Tennessee and he will be taking the car back to some of the same twisty roads in TN & NC I've had it on before - it will be sweet!

If in my business I can find some time to "play Porsche", I have a 928 & 944 available from another "PCar Guy" who is overseas; although I don't think the prospects are good in the near term.

It's been a pleasure - I'll be prowling the site wistfully thinking of those days in the mountains or at A/X. Semper fi.

Back on the Market: 81 Porsche 911SC sunroof coupe. Graphite/ Blk Int. 143k miles.

Records in document protectors back to '85.

No rust/ No Leaks.

This car is a driver: flat & neutral in the curves, pulls stronger then my 911 Carrerra did. It gets a lot of compliments but is by no means perfect. I’ve autocrossed it several times and took it on a 2500 mile 5 state trip this summer, highlighted with an epic weekend in the mountains of NC. Passed MD inspection in 2007. Just completed a 600 mile road trip. Although there is always room for improvement; it needs nothing but to be enjoyed.

All upgrade modifications (oil fed tensioners/ pop-off) & everything works including updated R-134 A/C. Engine Resealed, New Headstuds, Alternator and Clutch at 121k miles. New shift coupling & bushings, New fuel pump, New WUR, Swepco Trans Fluid. Lots of other new parts (smile, antennae, rotors, etc) listed in the binder.

Lowered, front chin spoiler, turbo tie rod ends, Carrerra anti-sways, bump steer kit, Bilstein Sports, Cat bypass with stainless sport muffler, Optima battery, power leather seats, Momo lthr steering wheel, OEM Short Shift Kit, Weltmeister Tower Brace. Complete tool kit. 16x6/7 Fuchs with Dunlop Sports. Original valance and working driving lights as well as original exhaust and catalytic converter come with the car.

Buyer will have 1st dibs on reasonably priced 15" 7/8 Fuchs with Victoracers, Harnesses/ Harness Bar, H-1s & Corbeau Seats.

A CarFax will show this car had an insurance claim for water damage from a minor flood. The Maryland title was “branded” but was not a salvaged title. As a military member I maintain my residence in TN and TN does not brand their titles. The water did not go higher than the exhaust in the back and did not touch the fog lamps in the front, so it was about 6” deep. The exhaust, torsion bars and carpet were removed, dried, cleaned and reinstalled - documented with photos. I encourage a Pre-Purchase Inspection and will refund the cost of it if any water damage is evident.

I bought the car undeterred about the blemish on its record because I intended to keep it. I just don't have time for it. It’s a fantastic car and a lot of fun – brings a smile to my face every time I drive it. I hope someone else will be able to enjoy it half as much as I have.

I can email you more pictures and a copy of the CarFax dated 8 June 2010.

Hank...good luck with the sale. Wish i could buy it from you...have you considered finding someone to take care of it for a couple of years? find someone to come over a drive it twice a month and change the oil once or twice and suddenly it will be 2010...

Thanks for the generous ideas & offers gents; Brian, you are selfless!

If I don't find her a good home, I'll find someone to watch after her. Facing the complexities of a long term absence, I'd just prefer to simplify right now.

I edited the orig text to clarify the water damage concerns. CarFax does not have its "facts" straight on this car. The insurance claim was in Nov' 07 not 1997 and the title has not been "washed". Full disclosure is my watchword. I have the documents to clarify any questions and again, I will guarantee the pre-purchase inspection.
