Default PCA Potomac Rock the Summit Club Race

I just wanted to give a virtual shout out to Pat Kaunitz, Donna Amico, the entire Club Race committee and the 125+ volunteers who put on such an amazing event this past weekend. It was the 30th Anniversary Club Race for Potomac and it had all the pomp and circumstance that it deserved.

So many Potomac drivers won podiums (IT'S CRICKETS ON THIS FORUM - WHERE ARE YOUR VIDEOS - WHERE ARE YOUR SASS-TALKING POSTS????); and their driving skills made me #potomacproud.

Two new Potomac rookie racers held their debut (Sean & Colleen Reiche). Glad to see another female on track!

A Potomac racer won the coveted Novice Award (Stephen Kiraly).

I didn't hear all the Workers' Choice awards, but I did hear Michael Kaunitz's name for one of them. I'm sure there were more Potomacans on those lists!

Stu Fain and Mike Levitas (both great Potomac members) battled over P1 overall in the Red Group. Damn. 1:12's. 1:13's. They looked great out there.

Evan Close and Ryan Magrab won some littany of awards along the way. Yadda Yadda.

Scott Bresnahan[/I], Dwayne Moses and Don Mattran battled over the podium for the best hair awards. How can they look so good after a 30 minute race and a balaclava?

The Past Past President current Vice President, David Dean, had a podium. He also had some fun late night paddock parties. ROCK THE PADDOCK.

John Houston, Terrence Judge, Mark Salvador, Bill Calcagno, Jim Evans, Lawson Wilder - all Potomac dudes, wore their #potomacpride with honor!

Historic fellows (both in car and age and car age), Dean Drewyer, Paul Amico, Alan Friedman, Fred Pfeiffer III, Sandy vanLeen and many others, looked smoking good on the track.

Long-time Potomac racers, Tony Pagonis and Nader Fatouhi helped others in the paddock after their races, the TRUE SPIRIT OF COMRADERY - TRUE GENTLEMEN.

Team Wilson always show up and take the top spots in their groups. It wouldn't be a race without Robbie and Steve.

Mark Francis - is he Potomac? At least honorary, though he lives down near Charlottesville. He always has a smile on his face at the paddock. He's at home with us even if we aren't his actual home.

Bob Mulligan won the 1st place out of a group of 1, and his car was featured on the PCA Club Racing national Facebook page today.

My dear hubby, Bman, also won 1st place out of his group of 1 in GTB3. Duly renamed by Sean as GTB-W. I hope that sticks - it makes me smile!

OMG, I almost forgot to mention Hunt McMahon, who was paddocked two spots down from us this year. He is the PCA Club Racing class record holder of SPB. I'm sure I am missing some others of our Potomac racers, so please accept my apologies.

ACK! HOLDER - I MISSED HOLDER TRUMBO. So so so so so sorry, Le Cochon Volant!

Just wanted to share the love!

Let's hear from y'all!

I'm with you, Mia. Where is all the race chatter? Truly a great weekend so well done by our chairs and the volunteer corps! Can't wait to do it again (and hopefully improve next time!)

Proud to be a sponsor for the 8th year in a row. Pat and her staff do an amazing job. I attend about 5-6 races a year and ours is the the best by far with the most volunteers by a mile.

Hair? Maybe next year I'll be sporting a man-bun....

Here is the vintage race from Sunday starting from the back of the field. I think some drivers were not awake yet.

You interloper missed the memo. You don’t go barreling through the field at start. 🤯
This is the vintage group. You go around the track in an orderly fashion in the order you were assigned. 😂

To pile on, great event as usual. This is my only PCA race for the past 3 years since I joined the old guys old cars group (aka vintage). Proud to call Potomac my home region and support the home race.
Weekend was a mixed bag for me. The car had no power over 6k RPM evident by a top speed of around 106 at the end of front straight. DMD crew worked hard to keep me going until I finally ran some respectable times, albeit still not having full power.
Again, thank you to all the volunteers, many of whom are the regular participants at various Potomac activities.
Oh, madam past president, sorry you did not get to race. Hope to cheer you on along with others next year.

Nobody goes to Dorikphus. It is too crowded.
