Compared to NASA and SCCA, PCA gives you a lot of track time. However, unlike the other two, you kiss your entry fee goodbye as soon as you sign up.
If you are looking track time per dollar. AER or any of the budget minded enduro series are worth a look. If done with efficiency in mind you can get about 2-4 hours of driving for around $600 - $800 (for everything including entry + race gas + tow gas + food) a weekend with 4-6 of you best friends.

Keep in mind, that if the car goes down for any reason, and for a long period of time...and hopefully the repair can save the car...

+1 Rob.

you cannot pay me enough to do Lemons and Chump.

I have been offered an AER seat for cheap, and not cheap on a full support team. Guess which one of those teams has consistently finished a weekend.

Reminds me of the saying that if you have a cheap head, buy a cheap helmet.

I don't think vintage is an arms race. I like the simple rules. Racing was good and not parade laps like some have said.

I think SPB is a good place to go also and Stache's budget will buy a nice SPB with money left in the bank.

True, stuff happens over 15 hours on track, but I've rarely had a car go down for more than an hour that I didn't know was a total basketcase up front.

I used to watch this car race when there were 4-5 964 Cups and 2-4 993 Cups racing in PCA. Now, only Mulligan is the only one that brings his out.

When I first bought my S2 and started converting it to a track car,I met a guy from Binghamton that would DE a 951. One day he showed up to Glen with one of these which I think he bought for $50K. I think I eventually put >$50K in the S2, that I sold for $5K.

Not entirely true- i raced against one at LRP just two years ago - COlin - had the rubystone car. We raced for overall - I was in my I car with more power he was in the Cup on slicks with more grip - we each won one race - was super fun. Car sounded AMAZING w2w with him.

He;'s racing SPC now not sure if he sold it or what.
