Default Prepurchase Inspection

Daughter is looking at a 2017 Jeep Wrangler in Arlington/Tyson's area. Where is a good place to get a PPI? What is involved with a PPI? compression tests? Is it worth it? Car only has 40k miles.

Curious.. buying from a Dealer or Individual? Dealer might not agree to a "PPI". Probably overthinking it imho.. 5 year old car with 40K miles.. Anything obvious to the car to make you/her think it was abused (ie, actually used off road?) Any records with the car? Carfax report?

Small Dealer and they said she can take the car for a few days with a 1K deposit. Car looks really good. Clean carfax. 2 owners and the 1st was a 3 year lease. Previous owner had oversized wheels on it and disconnected part of the exhaust. So, car sounds really loud. Dealer said he would put all the exhaust pieces back on and now the Jeep has the factory wheels.

What was weird was the car was for sale at another dealer in Cantonsvile, MD last month. This dealer just got it last week. Carfax shows a transfer 2 weeks ago from the other dealer.

May not mean anything - dealers sell inventory to each other all the time.

v6? If so, pay close attention to any engine noise(valvetraine) and misfire history, especially on #2. Compression test isnt a bad idea on that motor.
