Default Any recommendation for windshield replacement?

I have a crack in my Cayman GTS windshield, and it is steadily growing longer. Before long I will go ahead and get the windshield replaced.

I read a thread here that is a few years old, and there were recommendations for That Glass Place, which seems to be in Woodbridge, VA. At off-peak traffic hours, that is about an hour away from me, and I would prefer something closer to home. But, I am OK with the drive if the work is done right the first time.

Any further comments on That Glass Shop?

Any good experiences with shops closer to Upper Marlboro, MD?

I would also consider taking it to Porsche of Silver Spring. But that is close to an hour drive for me as well.

I don't think they will come to me in Maryland, but I haven't called them yet.

Local dealer? Is it insurance work or out of pocket?

I have $1,000 deductible comprehensive, and no special windshield coverage. I figure I will pay out-of-pocket.

Policies vary but windshield replacement doesn't use your deductible.

TGP typically knows the various major insurances pretty well and can advise.

Might want to price out glass before saying that I imagine there is both OEM and Aftermartket choices that could skew prices.

Can't recall where you live.. is Porsche Annapolis closer than Silver Spring?
Or call a few dealers and ask who does their glass installs?

Tessa and I had a few chips and cracks from 2 years on track and used Safelite AutoGlass. They came to the house and had a specialist that only worked on high end vehicles do the replacement.
