Fuel Injector Cleaning Advice
I'm tuning up a '85 3.2 for my brother in law. It has major vacuum leaks at the intake gaskets. I was thinking, "Oh well I'll toss in a new set of injectors whilst I'm in there". After seeing the price per injector I lost consciousness for a moment....
I'm going to send them off for cleaning and testing. Do you guys recommend anyone in our area? |

I believe Ivan Arzola (IMA Motorwerkes) has a machine and can do this. But he's i Chantilly, which is still not close to Easton. If I had to mail them off my first thought is the same as Marshall's.

When I bought an '86 engine built by Peter Dawe (former Andial engine builder), he used Marron Engineering to rebuild the injectors.

https://www.witchhunter.com/ FYI - I put new injectors in the 79 SC last December before I sold it in March 2020. IMHO not worth the coin. Next time I will go for cleaning and testing.

Thanks for the input everyone. I just said "in our area" to support Porsche people in our bailiwick, if possible. I'm not in a rush.
Patrick, I agree 100%. I've replaced all injectors a few times over the years and the results have never matched my expectations. In fact I'd argue that many times old OEM injectors still outperform new aftermarket ones, regardless of make and model. |

Just clean them yourself. It's very easy and there are a lot of YouTube videos showing how. If you want to go above and beyond, you can get a little sonic cleaner to clean the tips before and/or after. If they're working fine after a cleaning, there's no reason to rebuild them.
