The 74 914/6 has a small displacement engine built to the rule book and its a conversion so who cares if its a nice car.
So you're going to track it? I'm sure you'll be able to sell the bits you take off locally...unless you keep them for the eventual resale.

I'm sure I want more for my '74 911 (non sunroof coupe) than you wanted to pay/paid for this nice 914 conversion. Granted I need to get it sale (fix some small things) ready so I can test the waters here before opening it up to the world.

I’m going to add a bolt in cage and see how she does vintage racing, we will go from there.

Old number 2 was so far from the rule book, brakes, engine, fiberglass etc.

This is only my second purchase during the off-season, can you say the same?

Unless you count the BMW’s

Thanks, as you know I was looking for an old 911 but this will do nicely.

I’m thinking of bringing the 911SC, if I can find someone to haul up my extra set of 16/6 Fuchs that I plan on selling.

Bolt in cage you say, I might know someone that has a bolt in roll bar with petty bar. but I’m not sure if you’ll need a full cage.
... if Casey doesn’t call first dibs

I had a petty bar in the old car and really liked it but this one needs a full cage.

I’m going to try and find a bolt in, please pass along any leads.

Thanks

A full repaint close but not an exact match to the original color.

What is this rust thing you speak of

Rust things are special little gremlins that are particularly attracted to the flavor of 914 steel, can chomp voracaciously. Looks like yours is either wearing band aid or was inoculated as a baby!! Looks good anyway and congrats.

2.2 from a 71T, Webers, lots of factory bits like the oil tank, five lug conversion, full Bilsteins, front sway etc.

Just needs safety and some sorting of the suspension and a bit of tuning.
yeah i’m w you. go for it. (especially if it keeps you from tweaking the white car. also, when you want change, there’s the gt4.

plus, you’ve got few seasons before you max out on the benetton brumos look:

Thanks, that is the plan, although I may not go full GT with this one, it will be more of an “r” light weight hot rod, all steel no fiberglass.

I was able to sort out the steering wheel yesterday.

This is an early leather wheel from a 1970 914/4 with a repo hockey puck.

Is was quite interesting getting the cancel ring from a late wheel to work.

Progress
