Yes, the one in post #26 is a porsche sport exhaust with better looking tips. Hooking up the vacuum system would make it work just like stock (not sure how to do that). Heavier than aftermarket, but would be a nice compromise of quiet/loud when wanted.

Did they offer the push button change from loud to quiet back then? It's amazing on the 981.

Cool technology (when it works like it should) but VIR does not allow this type of "pop-up" roll-over protection in a convertible/Cab. It must be fixed roll-over protection. I have heard NJMP also has the same rule against pop-ups.

I believe so, they had it on the factory installed 996 with sport exhaust...not having a 986 Boxster or it's manual, I can't be positive though:

Hobiecat de-snorkeled my car and I just drove it around the paddock here at NJMP and I have to say it sounds pretty great! ~4K rpm I get that feeling that vicegrip articulated so eloquently.
