Sort of a re-introduce myself. I was a semi-frequent a long while back sometime after I acquired my 997. I've been a casual lurker since then.

Recently purchased a basket-case 924S for my son and I to wrench on. It's been a great experience, but its typically one step forward, two steps back. And my skills are rudimentary.

So far we spent about 10 hours deep cleaning (several very large mouse nests in the tunnel and behind the dash), fixed this and that (including about 2 hours trying to instal a new to me door handle assembly), switches, lighting, etc, etc. Painted the rockers. Bumper pads, rear hatch, replaced wiper motor, on and on.

ASG helped with some of the heavy lifting - fuel sender and lines, brake rebuild, some wiring. Had some PDR work done.

Next up we are going to do the rear shocks. If we pull that off, I'd like to try the front inserts and new assembly. All are shot. I don't have a proper floor jack or stands, so that's first job.

Car runs though. And we love it. I haven't driven the 997 since I bought it. Just a great, fun car despite all the challenges.

Thanks for the help. When I recall how to post pictures, I'll throw one up.

Hi Dan, Congrats on the father-son project. Sounds like you're having fun. Welcome to the sandbox.

Time to introduce my lurking self. Been racing autocross since 2016 in fun, but poorly-classed FRS and a BRZ. Got the Boxster in 2021 after wanting a P-car since I first saw a 911 in the 70's walking to elementary school. Now I just love driving it. I took it all the way to the west coast in 2021 - "work from home," you know. I enjoy seeing many of you at NCC or other autocross in the region.
Cheers!

I'm an old guy that joined a while ago, but never around to posting here (or anywhere else). I'm glad to be here and I look forward to learning from you all and hopefully add some useful input.
