I was looking around at potentially replacing my stock steering wheel. Not sure I love having a 25 year old airbag or the potential cost of a new airbag. So, looking for other peoples opinion on this matter?

1. Is there a cost effective way of replacing the OEM 964 airbag?
2. I see I can swap a 996 or other steering wheel, that is factory. (Not a bad choice, need to do some more research on what splines fit)
3. Get rid of the air bag completely. I'll be careful not to buy this junk :yikes: https://www.youtube.com/embed/ShiJoaxPm0Y

Regular stock or aftermarket wheels fit nice with proper adapter. IMO replacing an airbag steering wheel just to get rid of an old airbag is counter intuitive. Different if airbag has known defect or rumored to shower your face with shrapnel in an accident. I kept my wife's 964 airbag even after installing seats and harnesses. I did remove wheel/bag and clean contacts though ('91).
Your car, your choice. Your second option looks like the way to go..
