Hall of Fame Mini DIY Project Short Shifter

Here is my mini DIY project. Short Shifter for 915 Trans.

Here are the new parts, including the linkage with new bushings.

Disasssembly:

Careful when taking the top plate off, it may fly away. I just used some c-clamps, to make it a bit safer.

With the top plate removed, the old springs will come out. Now losen the nut and remove the set screw.

At the opposite side is a roll pin. I just used a large screwdriver and a metric hammer to drive it back.

Now remove the shift rod and the piece that connects the whole thing.

Remove the clips from the pin that lifts up the spring plate for 5th and R gear. They are needed for the new kit.

You can just right-click the pictures and save them. If you need higher resolution let me know and I e-mail them to you.

Cheers

Richard,
Hold down the "Control" key and click, and it will be like "right-clicking."

Web resolution is useless for print. We need the original image files at 300dpi minimum. All the right clicking in the universe kinda misses that fundamental point.

Wow! I've been using Macs since 1984 (we were among the first, and perhaps the first, newspaper to buy Macs) and I didn't know that. Of course, there are lots of things i don't know... never too old to learn. Thanks, Peter!
