Would the current chatterbox connection connect to this if driving with another instructor or student?

I think the headset/mic combo OG Racing put in my helmet is Speedcom which goes out to an IMSA plug. Any idea if that would work with the Trac-Com unit? I already had the replace my Chatterbox once last season after only two events.

I participated in the group buy and the unit is great, and just loud enough for my hard-of-hearing ears in the reasonably loud Miata, and plenty loud in the 911. For someone with full hearing should be fine.

I bought a Roux helmet with built-in mike and speakers, and an adapter to hook the helmet to the TracCom and getting the sound in stereo is great. Highly recommend this setup.

I purchased a Bluetooth Motorcycle communicator and liked it. The Chatterbox is easier to use if I walk up to a random car and need to be able to communicate. The Bluetooth communicators require a couple of minutes to make sure that it is set up correctly on a different helmet. Sadly, this is not a super easy set-up to create on some helmets.

If the bluetooth set was easier to set up, I would never use chatterbox again. The Bluetooth clarity and individual volume is far better. I found the system that Michael and Nader used to be better than chatterbox by far, not as clear as the Bluetooth set up, but as easy to set up as a chatterbox. My next ‘drop in’ setup will be this one.

Ken, I am glad you brought this back to life. I had completely forgotten about it.

Funny you should ask. I called HMS and the sales person thought that a minimum of 10 is required for a 10% discount, but he needed to check.

My next step is to send an email and get confirmation of minimum requirement for discount on intercom, helmet kit, student boom, and Trac com adapter (IMSA or NASCAR).

Just to close the loop, below is what I got back from HMS. A minimum of 10 units are needed for a 10% discount. If based on below, you are definitely in, let me know what you want.

if you do 10 trac-coms, they would be 10%.
If you only do say, 8 trac-coms but 5 or more cables/headsets, I can do 5% on them and the trac-com would be full price.
However, if you do 10 or more Trac-coms and 5 or more cables/headsets, it would be 10% off the entire purchase at that point.
