If you're looking for a factory Porsche branded roll bar, I suggest having a look at the 997 version. IMO, the 997 version is a far superior safety design over the 996 version by having six M10 fasteners securing the rear legs, as opposed to having two M8 fasteners. I also think that the 997 version with wider angle between the main hoop footing and the rear leg footing forms a more stable triangular shape. This general design is used by most if not all of the non-Porsche roll bar/cage maker, and on factory built race cars. I also also think DOM mild steel or chromoly are safer material to use for roll bar than stainless steel. Just my opinion. Totally understand if you are going for 996 generation periodic correctness.

Mike came through with a factory 996 harness / roll bar and it looks great.
It should clean up nicely. I ordered some new hardware, of course that is on backorder Just for kicks, here is a picture of my aftermarket 997 roll bar, the fitment in my 996 GT3 was not up my expectations and that is why it was sold. Based on my limited experience I cannot recommend going with a 997 roll bar.

Got a bit sidetracked with a new to me set of track wheels.
Picked these up after the last HPDE in October 2021. Factory 996 GT3 wheels. Immediately dropped them off at Radial Tire in Silver Spring for a quick refinish. Before After Can’t recommend Radial enough. We are very lucky to have these guys in our backyard.

Rescue wheels! Look at how they were being crammed into a tiny living space with no natural light and barely any room to move. Now they have a big, well-lit room to share (free range!), and the carpet has padding underneath!
You are to be commended for your wonderful work saving these poor wheels and giving them a great new home.
