Thank you guys. I bought my 914-6 on February 6, 2010, it went to VA on May 10, 2012, I picked it up from VA on July 23, 2017 and it was at Kent's for metal/body and paint until February 2019 and then assembly began with some delays for non-914 issues. I am so happy it is almost back in my garage. This was not a project for the faint of heart for sure.

Almost at the finish line. CV-19 threw a large wrench into our progress. That's the way it goes. It should be in my garage very soon- should be July. Have to install the rocker covers, adjust the headlight doors, install the engine lid, final check the electrical, final polish and that should be it.

Thank you. I have not driven it yet. But Jim, the guy in charge of putting it together has driven it for about 2 hours so far and he said it runs really strong and rides great. He said "You are going to be very happy when you get behind the wheel."
I opted for the Elephant Racing rubber suspension bushings and went with 140 pound rear springs and Bilstein shocks. I also added later stock 914 front and rear sway bars. I wanted it to be a comfortable street driver. I do not plan to auto cross or track it. I do plan to drive it on the street. It is also lowered about 1 1/4" from stock. I am hoping the cars is wrapped up this weekend and then after the 4th weekend I can go pick it up. It's been a long road for sure with some speed bumps but that stuff happens. I look forward to seeing it in my garage.

OK so we made some progress. Hard to see but the paint is now completely finished, final polish and a good coat of Carnuba wax. Got the passenger rocker panel on, headlights aligned, engine lid letters on and a couple other odds and ends done. Still need to complete some minor electrical and the driver's rocker cover and then install the engine lid. Getting really close. Hopefully July is when it comes home.

We are so close. Got the driver's rocker on, engine lid, headlights adjusted, just have a couple little things left and that should all wrap up this Sunday. Here is a pic of the LED brake light under the grill on the engine lid. You only see it when it lights up. Otherwise you would not know it was there.
