Aren't they, though? I replaced mine proactively as well when the motor was out.

I guess you're deleting all the SAI stuff - cleaning that out would be another WYIT job if you had to keep it.

Yup, dumping what we will not need on the motor. No smog worries.

Excellent. Debatable how long the cleaning out will work anyway. I've learned to like the glow of that cute little lamp.

Took advantage of the beautiful weather yesterday to make the 235 mile round-trip to EASY for a great Cars 'n Coffee in Emeryville, CA. Had a great time and saw some outstanding cars. My car ran flawlessly.

I ended up catching whatever is going around and got sick for about 5 weeks - no garage time! Finally good and hoping to get this engine swap going after the Holidays.

To compound everything we just started a complete remodel of the inside of our home as well as beginning construction on a new home and 2K sq. ft. garage on our property for my twin brother. The garage is going to be a lot of fun and very nice.

Almost to the point I get to start the next evolution of my car. First, had to do brakes on my wife's Macan. My buddy Greg T. and I did it at his home- he did most of the work. I am the short guy in the coveralls.

Jesus, this winter has been tough so far- got sick again and my wife won't let me play in the garage. I am triple-vaccinated and I still got RSV. Not terrible, but still the cough is a biatch.

OK, finally getting into this swap. Got the 3.2 out - came out pretty easy. Hardest part was getting all of the electrical out o the car in one piece. Then we crated the engine up yesterday. Once the buyer's money hits my account I will get her shipped to him. It is going in another 914, so that is kind of cool.

I also took my car to my friend Chris's "Red Barn" shop. He is an off the scale fabricator and is handling the seat belt conversion so I will be using the later stock retractible seat belts and getting rid of the the non-retractible belts.

At the same time we are adding 2 Spal fans up front, in the oil cooler shroud, to exhaust oil cooler air out the louvers in the frunk floor. I have have a digital programable thermostat we will install. The fans and the thermostat will hopefully keep temperatures where we want them. If not, we have several other steps we can implement to keep the engine cool. But we will start with the above steps and see what we get.
