Default E36 non-M undertray question

I want to replace the lost "pork chops" on my E36 simply because I want to keep the old hooptie's cooling system as up to par as I can get.

The inboard side of the pork chops have clips (on the right side in the picture) that look like they should clip into something but I have no idea what it's supposed to go in to. I can't find any references to a center section so I don't know what else it could be other than maybe either the brake ducts or something from an M undertray?

What am I missing?

Thanks!

BB.

Toss all the stock plastic bits that break and fall off. Replace with this.

Not a bad plan at all but ugh... I already tried the Bimmerworld stealth undertray but it wouldn't clear the plastic thing on the underside of the radiator which is why I went back to the factory parts.

Granted, I like that part in the link and may likely end up going that route anyway but really don't want to spend all that money all over again!

I have used the JTD panel on all my E36's. 325, M3 and 318ti. zero issues. fits perfect.
