Default trailex

no affiliation - but seems like a solid deal. i know many are always hunting for inexpensive, light open trailers. loved my trailex.

That's a very good deal. Has all the goodies except the winch.

Surge brakes though. These can be problematic if not maintained.

...but you don't need a brake controller, which can be handy with a borrowed tow vehicle.

But then you can’t use “your truck does not have a controller” to keep the BIL from using your trailer

Mine has them too and while they are ok I prefer electric. As VG says it can becomes a universal loaner.

I purchased one used where the brake fluid looked like it had never been changed and the brake system was clogged with rust. After comparing the price difference of completely redoing the surge brakes and just replacing them with electric, I went with the electric.
