Still can't connect from home, 15 minutes later. Page loads and refreshes from the Michigan server are sub-second.

Seems ok now. Im on verizon fios. Ive been running a tracert when it seems really slow and I get ~45ms, so it seems getting to the physical machine hasn't been my problem. But that doesn't jive w/ what you are seeing. Can you ping the machine from home?

Yup, can ping and everything. Tracert dies at their end but seems to make it to the server host. I've been trying Dorki since 11:30pm and no luck. Access from Michigan was fine (subsecond) but no joy from DC until I got an email that Stephen posted on this thread and tried again. Then it was back to subsecond.

Perhaps it is a DNS-related issue. Best I can tell, Jazzbass hosts this on godaddy, correct?

If so, when folks are having trouble accessing Dorkiphus, you might want to check to see if you are also having trouble accessing other godaddy sites (just check godaddy.com to start). Other thing to check when you have trouble would be if you can access Dorkiphus without a DNS lookup by entering "http://199.193.245.244" into your browser instead of "http://dorkiphus.net". If the numbers work and the words don't, its a DNS issue. (Of course I don't know how to fix that...)

Nope, GoDaddy is just the DNS registrar.

Looks like the problem is a firewall block at the host. Why the block is being put in is the next question.

Germantown as well, FIOS 50Mbps. In the mornings it is fast, evenings after 8 pm it is unbearable.
