Default PCAP - Summit Point - Oct (22) 23-24

So, I've been out of the DE game for quite a while, but finally signed up for a DE that I can actually make, this weekends DE event with my 924S. Is there still a Dorki ghetto parking area? (or is the whole infield a Dorki ghetto?). Any suggestions for "best of the cheap hotels" to book? Not feeling the whole commuting back and forth thing as much as I used to. What else do I need to know these days?

TIA!

Dave, the Ghetto dissolved a few years back as people either went more upscale, dropped out, or were too tied up with volunteer duties and needed to park in other areas. Sadly the days of Gunther's nut sack, and Ryan rolling out with the convertible top down on his Turbo, are but a distant memory.

I was afraid as much. Heck, no one even starts threads anymore.. indeed.. I feel like I have aged out of this hobby. Oh well.. Some lucky run group will have a "new" old slow car to avoid out there and my car is just classy enough to start its own ghetto

I will be driving a '71 911 on track for the first time this weekend, so you'll have competition for the oldest and slowest.

I don't know about all of that. Paul Amico's longhand is pretty quick...

Dave,
I've had my Miata out in Red once or twice (it's scary with those closing speeds, but the group is very predictable) and many times in black (still scary, arm gets sore). Drive well and you'll do okay.

Dave,
Looking forward to seeing you out there. FWIW, the old ghetto corner also proved to be the "low point" during really heavy rains. Fortunately, this looks to be a decent weekend weather-wise.

In my experience with Dave, if he is driving, he is driving well

I expect that there will be many newer cars going through the turns with a 924S on their tails!

Hence the Ghetto moniker - They never place ghetto's in the nice part of town

pffft. The Ghetto was there by choice. It was to keep out the bourgeois and upper classes... It made them nervous to come around out part of the paddock.

Well, except for the CIs, who always seemed to be trying to track down }{ for some reason or other...
