Cup holder
The cup holder on my 2003 Boxster still retracts but doesn’t stay closed. Does anyone know of an easy fix?

Ask BillC if he has one.

I had the same problem with my 996, took the whole assembly out and tried to repair it. The problem is that it is all plastic, thin and rather precisely made. There is a pin that it latches to when closed, that pin broke on mine. Superglue gave it about 2 more weeks of life and it broke again, I ended up wedging something in there to keep it closed and quit using it.
I agree with Jim’s suggestion, try to find another one.
