Names New Director of Motorsports Operations (SUMMIT POINT, WV – Nov 21, 2019) Xator Corporation announced Edwin Pardue as the new Director of Motorsports Operations for the company’s Summit Point facility. Mr. Pardue takes over for Chris White who has led the division for the past 6 years. Yikes, sounds like marketing-speak will be flowing unchecked now.

I believe this is the same guy that ran Old Dominion and then to Dominion Raceway. How many guys qualified for this have that name?

I think I know Edwin from DR. He was always working hard during member days. He never struck me as a marketing/bd guy. We’ll see.

Tony, last I saw he wasn't driving anything that would excite us--I think he had a used Lincoln something or other, and before that a Volvo but he also has a replica NASCAR. However, I'm sure you'll get to know him and like him in no time. I knew him from before his "new" Dominion days (but after Old Dominion was already closed) and when he was named the GM at Dominion I knew we could work with him. He did well considering what he had to work with while managing that complex and I know he was a tireless worker. I remember hearing about an SCCA DC Region HPDE event one weekend at Dominion and when told that the guard rails were not bolted on properly he took it upon himself to go out and tighten every bolt/nut on every piece of guard rail on that track alone with a flashlight until the early hours of the morning. Unless he finally gets smart and watches over himself at this new job you will likely see him first thing in the morning and last person at night (kind of like Donny!).
Although he doesn't drive a sports car, he is a sports car fan having been regularly to IMSA and other sports car races and he also attended the Canadian GP last year with his son (maybe you sat next to him and didn't know). He was also the announcer at the NASA Hyperfest races at VIR this past summer. He was born into a NASCAR family. His uncle was a pretty successful racer in the Grand National series but unfortunately was killed while doing Goodyear tire testing at Charlotte in 1964 when a tire blew and he ironically went through the guard rail and down the embankment in a corner. Obviously he has big shoes to fill by taking over for Chris. He already has an awesome staff to work with so I expect things to go well.

Good to know Scott, I was a mite "concerned" that in the announcement no mention of motor sport and I did not know his name, maybe should have gogled him.
