Since the car is at the paint shop, I started to get the Targa bar cover ready.

Most of the black paint was already faded away from sitting in the elements all the years.

I decided that I just get the rest of the paint off and give it a brushed look.

Happy New Year !
Engelbert

Looks good! Will you need to cover that with a protective clear layer?

^^^Yes - can’t wait to see this one finished.

The previous owner may want this one back when you are done

I think I want to send my SC to him for a refurb. Jeez, his work is factory-like.

Heck, I got my 914 painted and rust repaired, haven't put it together in the last 5 years...I'd love for him to put my car back together and clean up the bits I'm re-using.

Great attention to detail!

Just tell him you want a "suspension refresh", and see what you get back. :-D

It's stainless steel. It was sitting outside for so many years, it should just fine as it is.

I made a set of brake lines.

After I was done, I looked at the old lines, and the fittings which were not damaged I took off and re-plated them, so I have some spares.

Yesterday was a really nice day, and I could work with the door open.

Anyway, why waste the last day of the year. So I made a new fuel line. I removed the fitting and re-plated it.

I got some of the cohline sleeves and new HP fuel hose.

Made a little crimping tool. I had to make a few adjustments until I was happy with the crimped sleeve.

And now I have a new fuel line assembly. The other end will connect to the tunnel line by compression fitting.

Happy New Year to all.
Prost Neujahr.

I picked up the last pieces from the paint shop, the car and the front fenders.

Before I start to mount any body parts, I will go and sort out all the wiring.

Starting with the fuse box.

Cheers
Engelbert
