RMS Changing Party?
Hello All,
So...I'm getting smoked out literally and need help changing the RMS on my 80sc. I had a fresh rebuild on my engine and the RMS was changed at the rebuild, driving it after the rebuild it leaked, it was a Victor Reinz RMS seal. I let the builder know "Who is awesome" about the leak so he put another Victor Reinz RMS seal in. I drove the car to make sure that it seated well and low and behold this one leaks as well. I put about 1k miles on it since the second RMS. Its leaking directly under where the engine is mated to the trans. Vehicle now has 1,500 on the fresh engine. So that said, after doing some research on the RMS, I have attached a picture "1000 words" to better explain what I'm talking about, I have 2 Elring seals ready to go. I know enough to be dangerous to do this, but I would absolutely be indebted to anyone that has a lift, experience, and would have the time to help lend a hand. I need help. If I had hair I would pull it out its so frustrating, it makes driving the car and just smelling burning oil unbearable. Its not puking but definitely leaking from the area where the RMS is, I am going to check the triangle of death as they call it but.....it was all sealed using new seals, and I sealed it before it was rebuilt as well so I don't think thats the issue at all. I will buy all of the beer, pizza, lift time, etc. I just can't smell burning oil anymore I'm going to drive it off of a f'in cliff. -Bill https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...placement.html
