It does but like dating high school gurls timing is everything! Just like the air bag seat belt Light will come back on quickly.

Best option I found was the jumper wire. Or possibly finding a sparky that can figure out a way to convince the system that the belts are being used or there’s no one sitting in the seat.

Does WV have a state inspection? If not, You may consider garaging your car at Summit Point. State registration is determined by the principal garaging location not your residency.

Never mind, I looked it up and WV has a safety inspection...

^^ This ^^ It’s how I do it in the 991.

The newer cars run on a digital bus network so wire jumping doesn’t work anymore, and the passenger seat has a larger molex connector due to the weight sensor built into the seat (detects if passenger airbag needs to deploy or not).

Bus example: My center consoled has about 7 buttons on it, yet when you pull the button package out you see it is all wired with a thin 3-wire ribbon cable. It takes programming at the dealership to add a single button and enable it.

I miss analog

http://t-design9.com/ claims to make modules which spoof the digital buttons on modern Porsches. Likely doesn't fix the airbag light issue but you can always ask them.

as opposed to effing with the ECU every year? swapping seats is much easier buddy

and even if you do disable the light itself, you may still have a fault in the ECU since there is no airbag there -- which will be revealed in the OBDI scan -- and you'll fail inspection anyway since you are in a modern car and (for good reason) there's no good way to game the OBDI scan
