Engelbert, Nice work as always!
Quick question related to the post above: Do you use (or have experience with) Eastwood "after blast"? Seems like it would be very good and easy to use in cavities you have access to that are not painted. My neighbor recommend it after going down to bare metal.

I have not looked at that. Not sure, but I think after blast is for the outside, not cavities.

My plan for the cavities was once the car is finished to get some of the sealer. The spray stuff with the long tubes and nozzle to reach into all these areas. I painted all I could before welding, however, during welding you still burn some of that paint off.

Something like this, as example. But I have not found what I'm looking for.

Yes, the pieces are hold together with sheet metal screws. I also had the fenders on to get the gaps as good as possible. They are never perfect, but I don't think they were all perfect when these cars rolled out of the factory.

It's a lot assembling and take it apart, and over again, and don't start to weld until all fits OK.

Cheers

FWIW, steel bicycle makers have a product thats sounds like its a wax w/ some alcohol to thin it. They use a garden like sprayer thing to feed down into the frame tubes to coat the insides after its welded up. Frame Saver is a brand name but lots of DIY similar formulas (and also for the DIY sprayer.)

Thanks, good info. I've been working off and on putting new rockers on mg MG and have been struggling lining everything up. I feel your pain.

British guys have been using Waxoyl for years, I honestly never thought of using anything else.

OK, it's time for an update.

Some little patches on the fenders.

I didn't realized how bad the front bumper was.

So I ordered an new one.

So now the car was ready to go for an professional paint job. And here it is on the trailer on the way to Charles City.

Cheers
Engelbert
