That ought to end the idea of the Miata as a track car.

You should also do an event to get that Turbo on the skid pad. It won't slide easily with AWD, but it will slide and you should get comfortable with car control of that monster.

It'd be fun (though the horror of the tire cost!).

It's the upside of the miata, everything is so inexpensive!

When I first read this, I though, "How do you get a 12.2 in the 1/4 mile and keep it under 80MPH?" (75-80 is the name of the drag strip.)

Default Porsches have a lot of parts!

I got to visit with my long lost car for a few minutes today. It was interesting/surprising/worrying to see quite so much of it in pieces next to it while it sat on a lift. There sure are a lot of parts to a car!

Anyway, Colin & John Behe seem to be taking great effort to ensure that the car will run quite well when they are done. John things he's found the various sources of the litany of CELs that the car has and continues to throw. The good news is that the patient seems imminently savable. Nothing life threatening at all in the list of issues. Even the turbos are good. Behe figures another week or so to get it all done and put back together and assuming that they were successful that the CEL issues have all resolved, then the next step is for it to go back to the other shop and get the bumper painted and have a few other issues resolved and then it'll finally be able to come home. I'm targeting end of October (if I'm lucky). It's been 5 gone for months this particular time (it's spent 9 of the last 12 months in a shop).

I can't wait to drive it once it's been given a clean bill of health.

When did you see Behe? He was up at Summit Point all day today.
