Default Spark plug oddness (E91)

So my pal drives down from NYC for me to do a little tune up on his E91. Nothing special. Brakes, belts and tune up. So everything is humming along until I put in the Bosch Double Platinum plugs. I put in those along with fresh OEM coils and the sob wont run yet alone even start. So after swapping back in the old coils, I realize the issue is with the plugs.

Gap was fine and there was no reason I could find why it wouldnt run. I ended up tossing in some NGKs and it was fine. Ive never had this happen with plugs. I could see a rough run or some burping, but no start???

Well that is a new one on me. I think I have always used NGKs.

FWIW, I just swapped plugs on my new-to-me E90 325i with 110k mikes. I put in NGK Laser Iridium plugs (checked the gaps at 0.040, they were all there out of the box), and the car runs great.

Default hmmm

i would be suspect of an intermittent 12v supply connection on the coil...

NGK are the only plugs to run in a BMW in my opinion.
