so on the picture with the front shock mount where there is all that black stuff, is that put on there at the factory? reason i ask is mine is also all black and would then make me think the rubber could be original?

The black stuff is more like paint, not undercoat. So I just left it alone.

Made some progress:
Drilled out the broken stud and installed a helicoil. The engine harness is ready to go. Cleaned, blasted, and powder coated some parts. Cheers Engelbert

Heater flaps are assembled and ready to go back in.
Rear suspension is ready to go back in. T-bars and spring plates adjusted and installed. A little bit picture fun. Brake pieces going back on. Parking brake installed. I ended up removing the Oil tank, so I could get better access to clean up under the right side rear fender. Here after cleaning. I also noticed the the rubber gromments for the tail light wire is hanging out, so I need to remove the tail light housings and fix that. The Oil tank need also some cleaning and reconditioning. So I got the calipers and valve covers coated Indisch Rot.
I know, I know, it's original that way, but I like it that way. LOL Adjusted the valve clearance, and installed the valve covers with new silicon gaskets. Installing the cooling shroud. It starting to look like something. Happy Weekend Engelbert
