Default Beach toy

I know some of you have deal with rust and older cars, question is does this pictures look really bad.

This German guy owns a collection of citroens in MD talk with him yesterday and I am invited to go and see a really nice collection of some really rare Citroens in USA.

I am thinking to get this to drive it around beach with kids and wife.

From the pictures it looks like mostly surface rust. A couple of areas look like they need to be fixed a bit before all the rusty metal is treated and coated to stop and prevent future rust.

Even well prepared this car might not be the best choice for a beach buggy. Old non galvanized cars and beach = iron oxide.

It looks a bit like a cross between a VW Thing and a Cushman warehouse shuttle. The shock locations are interesting.

Theres a beach in Gainsville?

not to be too crass, but I do think golf carts would be quicker and potentially safer.

Does look like fun though.. Who cares about rust.. its a 40 year old French car! (and yet, I've always wanted a 2CV)

I was thinking a cross between the 2CV and a Mini-Moke!

That's not rust, that's "patina". "Rust" is when you can scoop it out with a spoon. Looks like a fun toy!

You know your stuff!

You right on it! Mostly surface rust, that is 2 areas where needs to be fixed. The owner has a couple galvanized frames in case I need it in future. Engine turns, brakes will need some work but all parts are available and cheap.

I am thinking to fix those 2 areas due to the rust, fix the brakes, make it run and drive it, and use it the way it is. I also need install after maket seat belts for the kids!

Most important my kids really love they must have my gene!
