Default Creative minds needed - fuel line

I'm staring at this too long and need another opinion.

Fuel fitting outlet from the tank is ~6mm OD, same as orig fuel pump inlet.

New fuel pump inlet is ~8mm inlet. Vendor insists its the right pump.

Fuel outlet from the tank is like this

Assuming I have to make what I have work, what do you think about expanding the tank outlet? Adding an inline reducer sounds busch league. Similar to using the required 8mm hose on the just too small tank outlet. This seems so simple, but I'm trying to fix a fuel leak, not create one.

Thanks for any ideas
