Update: 914/901/902 Tranny Rebuild Clinic
Even though I have been trying to get this clinic since May of this year, it doesn't look promising to have one before the cold weather sets in.
I have asked Dr. Evil if we could pencil something in for April '14 but he says that a little far off. I'll keep tryin' and let you guys know if he's able to commit. Thanks for the interest,

Hey Folks, I figured it was about time I show some love to my Dorki friends.
The reason for difficulty in getting something together is due to me starting a new job and having a new kid. Kind of soaked up a lot of time. Thanks, Jace, for keeping on this. Please allow me to clarify some stuff: The clinic is 2 days, 9am to whenever both days and you are welcome to attempt to rebuild as many as you can in that time frame. 2 is not unheard of, more is less common. Tuition is $300 and includes new stainless hardware for one box (at least). 18 and under are free. Please bring your kids and include them in this clinic. It is a great boding experience.....even if I have to clean up my language a bit Watchers are free. Come, take pics, ask questions. Its all good. I have a huge cache of excellent used parts that will save you money and not cost you miles. I can get new for discount depending on volume of order. Gear changing is totally easy at this clinic. No extra effort, really. I have some gears, but stock is fluid so first come first served. I do all 901 styles at this clinic. Why no 915? Because I have next to zero used parts for these so I can not bring 915 parts with me. Thus, it puts a hamper on the whole build it now and be done phenomenon. I do plan to start buying up core 915s now and hope to move into that group in the future. I build boxes at my shop, too. Many people send them into me for work and the cost is very reasonable given the competition. My job requires me to work any day and if we can decide on a weekend early enough I can request it off with good chance of getting it. I am out for weekends in Nov and Dec. I can do weekdays if others can. Location; Jace has been offering his place up as a more central location, but I am open to other venues as well if there are better equipped for the winter months. My best friend, Scott Burnett of Kahiko Customs in Charles City, VA http://kahikocustoms.com/contact has a shop that is almost always open for me to do a clinic and I tend to make frequent trips down there for weekends when I can. We can also do multiple locations since I can drive to them. I am probably missing some details so please ask away. Also, I am always open to PMs and emails about technical stuff, no charge. I like being part of the community and have been doing the transmission thing for about 10 years with a solid record of success and satisfaction from my customers. Looking forward to having a clinic with you all. |

Awesome. I'm planning to be a watcher (if timing is good--I'm a 915 guy, who has been inside my transmission but could learn a LOT more). Charles City is f-a-r for most on this board, so I'm hoping you find something closer, but I'll try to be flexible.

Ya, Jace was saying that it was far to Charles City and that most of you are local to him. If he can do a winter host, it will be fine and worth it. If others want to do Charles City, too, then no prob as I am going there anyway when I can.

ScottyB's shop works for me, but I'm certainly not the majority on this one. Don't have a 901 or 915 either, but I assume there will be beer, so that means I'll have something to keep me occupied
