Default Track worthiness of newer Porsches, Part II

Last time I was considering "upgrading," I was disappointed with the comments saying you need to add this to keep that cool, etc if you track your Porsche. Has that changed gotten any better with 718s? Specific car in question is a 2018 base boxster, manual, PTV, PASM.

Considering the stresses (heat) that are placed on a car that is track driven, I think the need to improve a stock car to handle these stresses will always exist. Just following the model progression, the "GT" cars always have more cooling capacities as well as larger brakes and stiffer suspensions to get the most out of a "track day".

That said, cant wait to see the new 718

^^^ Heat management is particularly important when tracking. A Turbo just makes this more complicated. The car in question looks very capable with PASM, PTV and manual =

One of the first questions is, are you planning to “tune” the car?

For about 10% more $$$ a 981 GTS will get you similar equipment. It is only (10 or 20) less hp. Please verify but I think the 981 GTS adds a third radiator. Combine that with SPASM, PTV and mechanical LSD. I think you are good to go right out of the box, autocross, HPDE and/or daily

Me, I would add CPO and/or a Fidelity Platinum warranty.

IMHO heat management is less of an issue on the track with an NA engine.

PS: I think the new 718 GTS 4.0 is an excellent choice if you need one car to do it all, well equipped it is under 100k.
