I am getting a new cage (or at least front part of the cage). I have a scheduled date with Piper.

YES heat in the back and cooling in front. Front oil cooler will be mounted back from the bumper but NOT conected to it. Have seen too many front splitters and bumpers get trashed from a simple off and take the oil cooler with it. Air will duct up and out the hood. The duct will run tight to the front of the fuel cell frame work.

I have seen the aftermath of several crashes where the F L suspension gets pushed into the footwell and crushes feet / breaks ankles. Happened to friends driving the Tiger car -Exxon Superflo 993 cup a couple of years ago. Not a pretty site.

*Bonus: CF dash [if any] and custom / personalize steering column height for you / your seat / your driving position. We did this on our '73 IROC. Subtle difference but much appreciated correct ergonomics during 3 hour enduros
Thanks. This area is often overlooked in cars that otherwise have massive cages with tubes all over the place. If the front wheel hits something hard as you have seen it has a bad habit of driving right through this thin sheet metal area. Further back the rockers are in place and in front the steering rack and more metal is there but right where you put your left foot and brace is only skin guage metal. It is a bitch to reinforce in the footwell without just adding lots of metal. Thre are no good angles to build geometric strenght and not get in the way for your left foot too. The foot well bracing will tie into the front bracket that bolts the drivers side of the tub to the front end and bridges the steering rack tunnel and to the rocker inner face. This is the only meaty metal in the area. It is not finished yet. Will post the end result soon it is the project on the burner. (good eyes BTW)
I am working on ideas for the dash. For now the plan is to reuse the stock guage pod amd mount it above the wheel to keep some original look but the rest of the area will be built to my fit. I might be able to fit a removable right seat in if the seat is set all the way back to the roll bar. TK and Jerome W need not ask for a ride as there will be restricted foot well room.

Perhaps I missed this before. Is this being built to a particular class, or is it a DE car?

DE to test and tune the driver and car and PCA GT. Would be GT-3 with the 2.7 that I have in hand and plan to fresh up. Frame work and contents other than brakes being built to handle a bigger motor down the road if the thing does not turn out as a total lump of crap and I don't ball it up in T10 thinkin it is a '12 and braking is optional. Brake upgrade only a matter of bigger binders and MC. the system will be front and rear bias ajustable.

Are you going to use the Boxster S brakes that all the 914 kids are using?
