I solved that lack of a realistic brake pedal feel by doing the brake pedal foam mod for a Logitec G27 brake pedal.

Basically, you get some foam from a pool noodle, stuff it into the spring for the brake pedal and it creates a much stiffer brake pedal feel for next to nothing cost.

There are some commercial load cell kits that do the same. One is provided by Ricomotech and this video shows details on the installation for that.

Yeah, spot on here. Once I got more comfortable with the controls and started driving ahead of it, I was impressed with how you can drive it. These sims have come a long way....yeah I'm that old. My first videogame was superpong.

Thats the fun part...

I'll probably do the Ricmotech mod before I spend the $$$ on the fanatec. I still need to buy some more displays.

"I still need to buy some more displays"

A triple monitor set up brings the most bang for the buck in sim racing.

Here's a video of a guy explaining his new Triple 27" set up. With Black Friday sales on the horizon, I'm looking to upgrade from my single 21" monitor soon.

For anyone interested.... a group of sim racers are hosting an SRF School event on Sunday, Dec 23 from 1:30 to 3:30 PM (18:30-20:30 GMT)

http://members.iracing.com/jforum/po...t/3628339.page

The track is Summit Point and both the SRF and the track come with an iRacing subscription.

This will be a hosted session. There will be time for practice, time for group instruction and some one-on-ones, then a quick qualifying and short race at the end.

The iRacing SRF crowd is friendly and helpful. If you are looking to build your virtual SRF skills, or just want to have some fun running virtual laps at Summit Point, come on out.
