I don't have one but just curious where it is leaking from. Did the housing crack somehow?

Hey Tito yes I believe so. We have assumed it was the cover all these years. I have had just a small slow annoying leak and again just assumed we didn't get the plate on properly. Now the the engine is torn apart and with a closer look it seems it is cracked.
Any suggestions?

Are they NLA? Have you tried DC Auto in GA?

They are around but pricey as hell. Last set I saw were used $300-400 per side.
I would clean it and bake it. Get some Zyglo and check it for cracks. For the money it might be easy to have someone weld it up if its not a serious crack vs buying new, or epoxy it from the inside.

i had a small leak which turned out to be a hairline crack in the cover...the stud on the inside had backed off against the cover and over time caused a leak...i bought a used one, but was also able to have instructor in a welding class, help repair it (haven't tried it yet, but have it in case the problem ever comes back)...sounds like you have found a source--same place i got mine..

Check the new cover for flatness
Even film of sealant (Dow 730) on both sides of gasket Snug nuts to seat cover evenly Torque to specs This isn't a load bearing cover, however, it can be unevenly loaded by improperly torqued nuts and the thermal cycling. A good welder will verify materials and choose the proper preheating, crack prep, and arc temp. The cover is a good candidate for repair.
