I wish you would have let me drive it and then I might put this whole thing to bed and buy a new porsche.

Meh, the new ones are all plastic and wires. The old ones are for real driving. They stink of hot oil and fuel fumes, they rattle and vibrate and they get your heart rate up in far better ways than the worry of someone parkig too close to your "color corrected" baby in a parking lot.

Seriously if you are hell bent on doing a conversion buy a rusty donor car with the parts needed for the conversion, you will save $$$

Better still, skip the conversion and sell your car and buy one already done save time and $$$.

Meh, I agree with Kurt the new ones are just fast transportation! We're downsizing and I've been thinking of selling the 996 and a few others. Just want to keep the funner bits into retirement

Spit balling here but prolly 996, '71 Targa, '84 Targa and '84 race car. Would like to keep the SC for vintage racing (but maybe not), the 356 and the '91. I just got a new motor for the '91 but will be parting out the donor chasse. Also a '91, though a race car. Plus 20 years of SH and LH parts

Now, this I hate to see. You know Dave that you won't be able to put up with yourself. I mean you can only watch so much daytime TV before you're climbing the walls. Don't do it. . .
