As fate played out for the Sound Board, I ended up being a custodian of this artifact. For several years, it sat quietly in a corner of my shop.
A couple of weeks ago, I needed to visit a Freightliner dealership in Hagerstown for some Toterhome service. A fellow motorhead offered to be my return ride home, partly because he's also a disc-head, and wanted to visit Hub City Vinyl, also in Hagerstown. As my friend perused the rows & rows of new & used vinyl, I was intrigued by the many artifacts on display, including juke boxes, game machines, and scales. I ended up contacting the store's owner and told him about the Sound Board. He said, "I'll take it!" So yesterday I delivered it to its new, and likely final home. Hub City Vinyl also has a small music venue, where notable musicians have performed. I look forward to audiophiles searching for albums for their collections, as well as concert performers and audience members alike, having the opportunity to gaze upon this bit of DC101 history.
