Default Hope to get more instructors

I sent off emails to everyone that was listed, but haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully they are waiting until more instructors sign up to tell me that I am in! Keeping my fingers crossed...

Come on everyone sign up to be an instructor so all of us track rat wannabes can get to play.

The CI's (Tom and Ralf) do the assignment of students to instructors. I don't know the science or secret recipe of it, but typically students get assigned to instructors with like cars until the possibilities run out. There's always the problem of instructor so and so won't fit in that student's car... Because they're too tall, of course . Then it's probably catch as catch can with some last minute rework. Student's typically find out who their instructor is at the end of the drivers meeting, at the student - instructor introductions.

Question Signing up for DE

So I am officially a member of Potomac PCA!

But I got onto the website to register for an event, and not only is the HPDC closed, but all of the DE events at Summit Point are closed.

Anyone have any advice as to how to get track time at Summit Point or somewhere else close by?

summit pt events are closed b/c they only open few weeks before each event. only the long distance events are open early so that many may plan them further in advance. watch this space (track forum etc) for 'reminders' of when registration starts for each event.

you may also want to set your alarm clock the night they open as they can be filled up by the next day especially since you will be in the green group which is the beginner group.

welcome !

I love it ! another one hooked !!!

You may want to try other regions within PCA such as Schattenbaum or northern NJ. They hold events at summit that are rarely full. Also you can sign up
with the Mazda club ( mazdadrivers.com ) or the BMW club.

You can also try FATT at Summit.(Friday at the Track) Quite a few of us also instruct there. Lot more expensive for the day and also fills up early.Try some links to BSR.

At DE's, they usually email a spreadsheet about a week in advance to all attendees with the names of students/instructor pairings. However, not sure if they'll be able to so for the HPDC. The instructor commitment isn't as intensive, given the substantial classroom time. They may announce on the day of, particularly since they don't need to deal with Green vs Blue assignment; all students are the same at HPDC.

Another reason not to worry is that last minute assignment changes even happen at DE's.
