You'll want to smooth out the sharp edges, those will create hot spots and preignition. Not good.

I once had a KTM 400 2 stroke motocrosser (bought used). One day we removed the head for some reason. The combustion chamber was completely dinged up from a previous broken ring rattling around in there. We didn't have a spare or money for one, so we put the dinged up one back on. It ran fine before and after this. Nothing like power wheelies in second, third and fourth.

Edit : after seeing the piston below, I remembered that the piston in the bike was also dinged up on the top from the broken ring. We never removed it. The PO had obviously replaced the rings.

Looks like the result of a good over rev. surprised there is anything left of the valve. Bet the piston is in equally good shape.

Maybe, I have a couple of 3.2 heads that have similar damage + cracks. Probably due to a failed rocker. I've had several of those on high mileage 3.2 and 3.6 engines.

Have a piston here that would mate, it already did mate with a valve in a Bell 47G5 helicopter when I was spraying an explosive factory in Pa for Gypsy Moth Engine was a 435 Lycoming, never did find the valve, dumped the load and landed OK. https://dorkiphus.net/porsche/images...attach/jpg.gif

"Dumped the load and landed OK." One of the few I'm guessing. But any landing you can walk away from is a good one, right? Tried to drum up business for you in Oxford over the weekend (a good Navy buddy visited Oxford and was smitten). Told him you were a good realtor, but he backed out. Coward. Even offered to set him up with a really good designer (Tim). So, he went on back to PA. . .

Thanks for trying Don, lost a lot of power when that piston ate that valve, lucky it did not break/shatter the piston, that would have been nasty!
