VIR w/ the Audi club 12/4-5/2004
$295 (inc. banquet & t-shirt) by November 15, 2004
I did this event last year and had a blast. The food is good and the weather is cool (attn turbo's!) http://www.audiclubna.org/chapters/p....html#December You need to be an Audi club member to attend. Anyone going? I am 50/50 right now, leaning towards going.

Thanks for the info, Chris. Sounds interesting, but you have to join the Audi club, which is $44 more. Doesn't seem like the membership application is too strict, though. Ummm.. yeah sure - I have an Audi...
The real thing I'd be concerned with is driving instruction for rear engined, rear wheel drive cars. My guess is that if you get an Audi instructor familiar with FWD and Quattro Audi's, are you going to get the instruction you need to really drive the hell out of your tail-dragger? I don't know, really - does it make any difference? Instructors?

There will be plenty of instructors there who are familiar with RWD cars. Some of them even have Porsches. Don't sweat it -- you will get an instructor who will teach you the line, as well as give you pointers on how to get around the track without spinning or sliding off (hopefully!).

BlackTalon is right, no issues with the Audi guys. The membership is $44, but they also run events at SP so you can offset that by attending more events. Plus, they include food saturday night and a shirt, what a deal!
On a similar note, is Dorki ready to host a track event next year? Run groups? We dont need no stinking run groups!

I have instructed with the Audi club at S.P. and they are a good bunch. If you are in the earlier run groups you will still learn the line. If you are white or abobe you will still learn something. As said a number of PCA instructors run with Audi and with CMP cancelled, probably more will this year. As for me, I don't trust the weather that much, am a wuss when it comes to cold (too much metal in my joints) plus I am hoping to do the G and W day at VIR Nov 20 /21. I know the PCA instuctors are great but any experienced instructor from virtually any club will help a green or blue and probably white student, hell I have instructed Golfs, Mitsu, Bricklands, Audis Lotus etc and been told I imparted a few words of wisdom here and there between the "Oh S**t"s

Audi guys are a good group to run with. Follow the mantra: "seat time is seat time is seat time is .... " You get the point. Sounds like fun but, I am out for this one. Jase |

I'm going with a couple of friends. I've heard the same thing that there are instructors there who have lots of cars including Porsche and BMWs.
I happen to be a member already, but I'm 99% sure you don't need an Audi to become a member. Firoze
