Default OBDII Reader Recommendations ???

I have a Durametric for my 993 and 997 but it doesn't work on my wife's 718. I'm looking for a full featured OBDII reader that will work (i.e. reset oil change interval and all fault codes, actuate ABS pump/radiator fan/door locks/etc) for modern Porsches as well as my collection of 2015-2020 Toyotas, Chevys, Jeeps, Mazdas, Porsches, etc. I'm willing to spend $500 or so for something reputable but not really willing to spend SnapOn kind of money. Any experience, recommendations?

I have been using a iCarSoft V3 Porsche system - it works on the 981, which Durametric did not support and only worked partially.

It has some ability to cycle ABS (etc) but is not able to code AFAIK.

They have a multi-brand unit available, but I have not used it.

The best part is that it is an OBD-powered handheld screen/control - no laptop needed.

Really happy with my Think Tool, but $500 doesnt get much bi-directional control. ~1k gets the Pros model. Gotta figure out if you are happy with ~80% functionality. To me service reset and basic obd2 features, fuel trim.. are key.

Which one did you choose? I see the Think Tool Mini is about $400.

I have the Pros, nice big screen and I use the pre and post reports all the time, perfect for my use case, controls multiple modules.... Big screen is nice when graphing multiple pid's, especially when on a test drive.

I'm not up on the models but when I looked you get less programming and module decoding in the lower down the line you, makes sense of course. From what you described the mini might be perfect for you, plus $60 coupon via amazon right now

After watching a gazillion youtube reviews, I picked an xtool A30M for less than $200. Will see how it works...

Preliminary eval:

Initial impression on the unit itself. The unit is just a dongle so BT link to phone or tablet needed. I started with my phone but there are a lot of diagnostic modules to download (because it supports almost every manufacturer) and I ran out of memory so I switched to my tablet which had 100's of GB free. I didn't measure how much memory it used but it was in the GB's.

Initial impressions on a 2019 Toyota RAV4. Seems to talk to all the modules in the car and report error codes. Had no issues with the car so nothing to see here...
