I would think that raw meat might be a better menu alternative than sugary sweets.

No way man! At least when you DNF you have a built-in excuse for why you were slow. "The car just wouldn't turn, and it was really down on power. Just didn't feel comfortable finishing the race. It's a shame too since I think I really had a chance at a podium."

DFL...you were just slow.

The question was "what was the week up to YOUR Rookie race like?" NOT "what natural (and unnatural) acts can I perform to ensure my man is THE WINNER" !!!! ha. For the record, I washed his bacon pan this morning AND put his coffee cup in the dishwasher - which is a BIG DEAL in our house. The cookies are for the Intersport paddock, Pit Out/Pace Car/EV/Grid, and the Ruby crew.

So the question was/is "what was the week up to YOUR Rookie race like?" which means, N0tt0n, that you are NOT qualified to answer. Go sit in the corner please.

Here's my rookie story.

Not having any help the first night was a major mistake and added a lot of stress. It starts off waiting in a long line for paddock gates to open, find a parking spot, unload, register, get a log book, get car tech'd and not miss the rookie classroom is near impossible without help.

I was waiting in line for tech when the rookie classroom was about to begin. The scrut took mercy on me and agreed to tech my car and park it off to the side when done. Classroom went long and when we got out the paddock was near empty and it's POURING down rain. My car is under the shed but no log book in it. I am climbing in and someone comes up and "I wouldn't start that car". Huh? "Something happened to it". Turns out the tech was having trouble starting the car, flooded the engine and ultimately blew the intake manifold off. MAJOR problem because the motor has to drop. Now it's now 9:30pm, pouring down rain, I am alone, can't move the car, open trailer, car with no windows, BlackTalon is there trying to give support as only he can. Painfully load the car, soaked from head to toe and take it to TPC in Jessup. Thank dog M Levitas met me at the shop and got it back on. I didn't get home till 3am and needed to be back at Summit Point in a few hours. I got 1 1/2 hr of sleep and still have no log book and it's my first day of Club Racing. Find scrut, get tech'd, get log book and getting ready for practice 1. Ready to go, car won't start. Battery dead. Miss Practice 1 and afraid I am out since rookies are required to attend all practice session. Luckily they let me continue. Get through the practices and fun races but barely.

I didn't come near any track records but did okay in qualifying and my first sprint. Which, for some unknown reason, led to a PCA Club Racing 6 person welcoming party; TSA was kinder and gentler. And then my second sprint was a one lap nightmare.

^^ translation

Don't do what BMAN did in his rookie race or for that matter, his later ones, either.

As I recall his Mrs did fine in her first race weekend until she let him get in the car
