Default Another e36 M3 track car

So we had one of these two years ago:

The purple car was fun but she was a bit challenged in the cosmetic department and I decided not to put the $$$ into bringing her up to snuff, details here:

https://dorkiphus.net/porsche/showth...3+track&page=3

The black car showed up a few weeks ago and the timing was good having recently sold both the latest 914/6 track car and the tow vehicle.

She needs a few minor updates, but otherwise is ready to go

A brief rundown:

1997 BMW M3 “slicktop” built for Track Days, Autocross
Miles: 165,800
Title: Salvage

The car was a Bay-Area CA car until she moved to MD in 2017. It's never seen salt or snow. Records for the car back to the original owner. The car was built by a previous owner’s shop in Vallejo CA as a streetable track car. He added some nice interior extras – suede accents throughout the car.

The car is tastefully modified for track days with Recaro race seats, 6-point harnesses, a VERY beefy roll bar, and numerous suspension and engine modifications as detailed below. The car can still be driven regularly on the street, has working A/C, and has made several 700+ mile round trips to Virginia International Raceway without a hiccup. The car is a fairly unusual “slicktop”/no-sunroof car.

The car does have a salvage title, but has not been wrecked to my knowledge. All body panels on the car are original with the exception of the front fascia. A previous owner had the car repainted after driving through a construction zone with a lot of loose gravel that damaged the paint on lower half of the car. He had a high-quality repaint by a local shop, submitted the claim to his insurance, and they totaled the car. Lots of documentation on this in the records.

Details on the car modifications and maintenance are as follows:

That'll happen when it meets a wall at Laguna Seca.

That said, its still kicking and running around racetracks and autocross courses since you passed it onto me.

I like how you wrote this up so it is easy to convert into a FS ad with minimal effort in a month or so when you are totally bored with it

I always wondered what the story was behind that car, very glad to know that she is still being used as intended. Enjoy her in good health.

You think it will take that long

This actually came from the for sale thread when I picked her up, but thanks for the idea

I see the original thread was from 2 days ago. Are you ready to sell yet? How much you want for her?
