I have a friend in the Hague for the past 11 years or so...he loves it. Too bad your 993 isn't a tiptronic so I might have a chance at affording

Gone but not forgotten:
'02 S6 Avant - trans blew, but rebuilt as a 6-speed by new owner
'99.5 A4 2.8QT - tree fell on it after 20 years
‘74 MB 280C - traded for paint/rust repair/6-conversion mods on the 914

Figured I would introduce myself here. Ed’s car was delivered to me today; I’m about three hours South of Ed, but still in VA. She joins an ‘02 Aerokit Turbo and a gated ‘03 Ferrari 575M. Somewhat oddly, all cars of my little collection were purchased from the DC area and all were found with the help of my most excellent friend Chris Ritter (I think he’s on here).

I had a ‘95 993 for eight years and I loved it dearly. Although the 996 truly retains a good bit of that feel…aircooled is a whole different animal and I’m so glad to be back in a solid 993. Love the color as well.

Unfortunately, I was not able to get through the DMV line today, but when I return home Monday, registering, titling, and tagging will be job #1.

I will be doing a few things to the car, but nothing major. Ed has done a lot of the mods I would consider. I’m trying not to go too far down the slippery resto slope, but we will see how successful I am there.

Thanks to Ed for weathering a slightly protracted decision making process- I had some other possibilities, and they are quite nice, but in the end this car’s charm and fairly unusual set of options won me over. I can tell Ed is a solid dude who appreciates his cars.

I’d also like to plug Chesapeake Custom Carriage. Owner TJ was recommended to me on Ferrarichat, and he did not disappoint. Scheduling was easy, price was reasonable, and he managed to be a half-hour early!

Looking forward to writing the next chapters in the story of this fabulous car!

Edit: Cannot forget about Taylor Chapman and his very, very thorough PPI process. VERY impressed!

I hope you have as much fun with it as I did, Tripp.
