I'm an idiot for sure. 4 E30 M3 cars literally given away. I sold this one for 12K in 2009 and went to EAG. I'm sure he's asking 100K for it these days.

For me it was the '82 911 SC I bought in '86, drove a loop around the US and Canada in the first 3 weeks I owned it, but got 4 speeding tickets and hand to sell a year later (in$urance). Maybe because it was only a couple of years old, but that was a really great car and I have wonderful memories in it.

The other one many on here know--the black '86 911 race car I built (with the help of many Dorkis). Knew every bolt and wire in that car, and despite my novice mechanical skills, it came together really, really well and was just a wonderful car to drive. Street legal, too, so I could drive it to tech inspections instead of bothering with the trailer (but I usually used the trailer anyway). After the Gold Targa (which many hear also know - kind of evil but taught Ben and me how to drive), the black car was a huge step up.

Don't miss the gold car, but remember one time when one of the guys (had a 924 that was never running) took it around Thunderbolt with Trak Ratt in the passenger seat ("took it for a spin" is how Trak Ratt worded it) and TR told me the car was undriveable. I had to prove that it could, in fact, make it around the track heading forward the entire way, but Dirk might still insist the car spent more time than was reasonable facing the wrong direction...

They all made room for a some very nice cars
I think I saw this one for sale ~10 years ago and debated making it my first 911. I didn’t know anything then and thought a ‘70 was probably too old, and it wasn’t my dream car, a 964.

I still think about it every now and then, though, and wonder what happened to it. I didn’t realize you owned it, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised

Looking at it again with hindsight, now I really regret not buying it. Not due to value. It just sits exactly how I like them.

of course I meant at anything other than a relaxing cruse. That Opinion was reinforced later at summit in turn 3 with Ben droving

I also saw it for sale and wished I’d jumped on it! The last owner and I upgraded the trans to a 915 some years later. Still think of it as the one that got away.

I traded it to Fritz for a BMW, he dropped in a 3.0 and still has it. At the time I needed a DD with a back seat. Tito ended up with the BMW, so it all worked out.

Don’t get me started on the value, I bought it from Pete Tremper for what would be considered a good price

I really don't have one car that I regret selling as I have always been lucky enough to replace it with something better or at least different.

Now my dad on the other hand, I have a lot of regrets for the cars he sold...... 58 TR3, 59 Abarth Zagato, 61 AC bristol, 55 Crossley Super sport, 52 Dellow Mark II, 60 Abarth double bubble, 61 Alfa Romeo Giulietta spider, 65 Corvair Monza, 65 Lincoln with suicide doors, NSU Sport Prinz, 88 Porsche 911.

Wow, that would be a museum in itself!

There was a column by Denise McCluggage in Autoweek back ages ago, in which she talked about all the great cars she'd owned. She'd always be told "think of what they'd all be worth now" and made the point that she'd never have been able to own the second one if she hadn't sold the first.
