I received my firewall seatbelt receiver sections from one of our regular 914World.com parts suppliers. He did a great job of cutting them out and leaving me a ton of margin all around the needed part on each piece. Now when the time comes, we have what we will need to make that modification so it looks like a factory firewall- only from a '72-'76 914. Then I will install the factory retractable seatbelts for a very clean modification.

Just bought a couple tickets for Luftgekühlt on April 29th in the SF Bay Area. Considering entering my car when they open up registration. Should be a fun day regardless.

Yay! My car was accepted for Luftgekühlt 9 at Mare Island on April 29th. Looking forward to a fun day. Now I have some work to do before then....

I bought a set of front tie-downs from Chris Foley (Tangerine Racing) and had them powder coated satin black and installed them on my car. I now have a nice set of front and rear tie-downs if/when we need to flat bed my car. It's a 52 year old 914 after all...

Great. That's why I posted it. These are heavy duty and will not disappoint.
Cheers,

I've never seen tie-downs look so sexy!

Here's the link (I think). Not inexpensive.

Wow! Luftgekühlt 9 was a huge success. I am guessing 700+ Porsches spread out all over Mare Island. Absolutely stunning setting for a car show. There were so many cars you really needed more than 1 day to look at them all. My brother and I were only there for Saturday and we had a terrific time. For reference, he is the one in the brown hoodie standing next to my car and pointing towards it. We are identical twins.
