Mike,

did you pick up a tap and die set? I don't know if I'm going to be able to do any wrenching this weekend but if you need to borrow it you're more than welcome to stop by and pick it up.

We need a 14 x 1.5. They didn't have one that big at Sears.

sorry, just checked, my set only goes up to 12mm... if you order from McMaster-Carr they usually ship to this area in one day. better quality than Sears too, I think the last taps I got from them were Greenfield brand (I busted my little 3mm tap and couldn't find one locally.) Also Cherrydale Hardware had a good selection of taps and dies last time I was there.

edit: I typed "Grainger" but I really meant "McMaster-Carr." Grainger has a store in Merrifield and another in Sterling, and they probably have your tap, but you need to work for someone with an account to shop there.

Harbour Freight has that size in a couple of their tap and die sets. If you go in there try and get the better or best quality sets for a little more $$$.

You got a link? I looked on line and the largest I could find was 12M in any of their sets.

Not at the moment. I've got all 3 of their tap and die sets in my workshop though. I'll try and get you some info today. I did buy my sets in the store.

Anyone have an extra "Threaded Pin for Ball Joint?" P/N 911-341-119-06. And associated nut 999-084-019-02. Last night, one sheared right off while tightening.

After calling the open dealerships, and shops that I hear are open sometimes on Sat, either nobody answered or they didn't have any in stock.

Obviously I'll replace with like part.

Thanks.

Drive over to Autobahn or IMA. They may not answer the phone, but there's always someone at one of those on a Sat.

I have a spare "used" pin if you feel like comming up this way.
Did you drive the pin in with a drift or try and pull it in with the nut?
I'll be out in the garage so call.
